Bernadette Peters

 Bernadette (nee Lazzara) Peters is an American actor and singer. She has appeared on television, film as well as musical theatre and solo concerts, in addition to recorded recordings. Her career spans more than six decades. The critically well-known Broadway performer, she has received seven Tony Awards nominations, winning two (plus an honourary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations. She was awarded three. Four of her Broadway cast albums on which she has performed have received Grammy Awards.



 



 Peters is widely regarded as the most famous interpreter of the works by Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87), The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011) as well as Hello, Dolly (2018).
