Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18 of 1985 in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was apparent from the time she began attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. A mere 10 weeks after the initial trial she took her skills, she placed 2nd in the 200m race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix completed high school in 2003, and was signed by Adidas to become a professional athlete. In the following year, she was a student at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix took home her first Olympic Medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. Felix set the Junior World Record running 200 metres in 22.18 second. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her becoming the youngest female to win the 200 meter race. In 2007 she defended the title by beating her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix took part at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and consistently placed in the top three of athletes in her respective events.
